Launch announcement

Worldwide Dead will launch on Friday, February 20th! The exact time is up in the air, but it will be preceded by posts here, on the WWD Discord, and Reddit, so watch any of these spaces for a pre-launch alert.

If you would like to claim your historical account names from UD, you can do so on the discord. SweetIrony was kind enough to write up some instructions:

## How to Reclaim Your Original UD Account Names

All account names from the original game are reserved and cannot be used in Worldwide Dead without special approval.

If you were active somewhere in the Urban Dead community’s various Discord servers before the shutdown, you might have already been pre-approved! Try to use your old names and see if the game lets you. If it doesn’t work, let us know and we will likely be able to approve you based on your Discord history.

If you’re new to the UD community on Discord, you’ll need to show us some evidence that you really are who you’re claiming to be. The level of proof required will likely vary based on the notoriety of the account you’re attempting to claim.

Here are some suggested ways you could back up your claim:

* Show us some screenshots or wits you took, game text you copy/pasted and saved, etc.

* Log into an old UD forum account

* Prove you’ve previously owned an account with the same name (or a variation of it) elsewhere on the internet (Reddit, for example)

* Tell us some information about when you played, locations you frequented in game, events you took part in, other players you remember playing with, etc. that matches what we can find in the iSpy archive or the old forums.

This is not an exhaustive list of ways to support your claim, so if you have some other type of evidence not listed here, go ahead and try it!
